Contemporary British Art for Corporate and Private Collections

About

George displayed artistic talent from a young age, inspired by the sweeping landscapes of North Yorkshire where he grew up, so it would seem only natural that George now finds great inspiration in the subjects that were synonymous with his childhood.

After reading History of Art at St Andrews University, George became a professional artist and quickly established his reputation as a young painter of considerable promise, undertaking a variety of commissions across the UK.

George's style continues to develop; his paintings have become increasingly atmospheric and, as his confidence and technical ability have matured, his works have grown progressively rich in both colour and texture.

George is a seasoned European traveler, finding inspiration wherever he goes. He has exhibited extensively across the UK, including a highly successful show at Christie's in London, and he continues to work closely with The Osborne Studio Gallery in Belgravia.

Over the years, George has built up an impressive list of patrons; his work hangs in corporate and private collections across Europe and the United States.

"For me, painting is an evolutionary process as I am continually experimenting and trying new things. My primary interests are those of light and atmosphere and the effect these have on both cities and landscapes. British urban and rural environments are both very different from those painted three hundred years ago. Despite these changes, light and atmosphere occasionally evoke such timeless views as to allow us to see what life might have been like then; this is what I find truly intriguing."
